Legal Question in Family Law in India

I am living wid my parents for last 3.5 yrs and now want to go for mutual divorce as I have found someone who wants to marry me. Is there a way to fast track my case in lok adalat to get divorce in 2-3 months. Divorce case was filed by husband in 2008 and preceedings are on and i had filed a DVA and 498..pls advise as I do not want to wait for another 6 months pls help and reply

Negotiate through your lawyer with opposite lawyer for settlement. Nowadays, Divorce cases not settled before Lok adalath. You have to settle the case in court itself. The same is also easy, if your husband agree for the same

If your husband agrees to Divorce you by Mutual Consent then minimum waiting period is 6 months for both the motions. You cant escape this period .

Since your husband has filed a divorce case against you therefore it seems that he also wants to go for divorce. Thus in such case you can proceed with the Divorce case on mutual conscent after having negotiations regarding maintenance and alimony.
