How long does it take to get divorced in India if the women does not want the divorce?

Only the husband wants the divorce but the women does not want the divorce. Need to know how long this will take in the courts from time of separation to divorce.

I have been married for less than one year and my wife was being verbally abusive to my mother and myself.

you have to wait for one year and then file a divorce petition on ground of cruelty. if contested by your wife you may have to wait for at least 2 years. maximum time cannot be ascertained.

If your wife is not interested in divorce, you should stay cool for the time being. This is not the stage for you to start any legal battle.
