Yes wife can file divorce on ground of desertion if for 2 years or more husband is not cohabiting with his wife.

in your case it will be on the grounds of cruelty. the supreme court in 2010 held that not cohabiting with either spouse is mental cruelty for the other spouse. Desertion is a different ground requiring seperation of two years without any rhyme or reason
