Legal Question in Family Law in India
I m hindu female married in end of 2005.
husband is abroad.
settlement has taken place for mutual divorce.first motiion is yet to take place.so full amount agreed to as alimony is yet to be taken by wife.
before first motion,if husband dies,can the wife be denied alimony that was settled?

On the death of husband, you will remain legally wedded wife and will inherit his property like a widow.

unless divorce takes place you are entitled to inherit his property as his wife.

in case the husband dies before the settlement or the first motion, the wife would be considered a widow and not divorcee. regarding alimony, then instead of alimony, she can claim the assets and all the properties of husband.
