Maintenanc cost
Dear Sir,
Kindly answer the following question.
Local court in Punjab has ordered for payment of maintenance to a lady by his abscondig husband in nov, 2008 but he has not paid any money till date. Can execution petition be initiated in court in New Delhi and if yes, which court may be approached in Delhi. If it is processed through an advocate howmuch charges will incur in in\\this case and who will be th best advocate to be contacted in Delhi?

An execution petition may be maintainable in the same court which had passed the executable order/decree.

However, after filing of execution petition, you may seek 'transfer' of the petition by making an appropriate application. The court may order transfer if it finds existence of sufficient grounds.

The litigation costs - lawyers' fee etc. are much higher in Delhi as compared to Punjab. In Delhi there is a practice of charging lawyer's fee for each date/appearance unlike Punjab where you settle the fee on lump sum basis for the entire case/work.
