is it compulsory to pay alimony to wife if husband is filing a case for divorce

Yes, the maintenance / alimony has to be paid by the husband.

The husband may be liable to pay maintenance / alimony even after divorce. As per law, even a "divorced wife" is entitled to be maintained by her ex-husband.

yes, alimony to wife is compulsory whether husband files the divorce or the wife provided the wife is unable to maintain the same standard of living the husband is enjoying.
