Legal Question in Family Law in India

Does every marriage in India get a certificate with it? Even if it was not a court wedding. It was a traditional hindu wedding that took place at a hall that hosts weddings. I need to find out where I can find public information like the husband and wifes address of where they were living before marriage. How would I do that?

I think you want to know about a specific person about his background. plz provide detail to know more, coz registeration is not compulsary, though law has been passed to register every marriage but till date it has not been enforced by law.

in case the marriage was registered with the registrar of marriages, the copy of certificate can be obtained containing the addresses of couple. in case the marriage was done as per hindu rites and no certificate was issued, then there is no way the information can be obtained.
