Legal Question in Family Law in India
second marriage--muslim
Hi we are muslims. Husband wants to marry again. I dont want this to happen. Is there any way to stop him from getting married, Any legal way? why have muslim men more proviledges than other indians? And why muslim woman doesnt have equal rights as that of other indian (non-muslim) women in india? Can i claim this as my right i.e not allowing my husband to get married again , like other women...legally? Does 'nt it hinder my right to equality which is guaranteed in constitution? Please suggest some ways out.

You may consider invoking the provisions of Domestic Violence Act; Please feel free to contact me again after reading this Act which is a 'must' reading/understanding for every woman in India.
Re: second marriage--muslim
The personal law leads you. ie., Muslim personal law. It permits poligamy to men and monogamy to womens. uniform civil code is yet in discussion. So i am sorry, if your husband wands a second marriage, law can't prevent it. Only your love and affection can prevent his intention. up to my knowledge in Quaran other marriages are allowed on specific circumstances for which you can approch your Jammaath(Muslim Assosiation)

You can avail Domestic Violence Act but husband cannot be prosecuted for Bigamy under IPC
