Legal Question in Family Law in India

i have been married for a few months now, but we have not been getting along since then . i have not taken a single rupee as dowry from my wife.infact i have given her a lot of jewellery worth rupees 20 lakhs.can i file for a divorce?.will the family of my wife lodge a dowry case against me.

in case you have proof that you have given her a jewelry worth 20 lacs and other items, even if she files a false case, you would have a good defence. better try to work out the marriage if you can.

first decide whether you want to save your marriage or not. Once you have the proof of giving, it will certainly help in case a case is filed against you. for divorce you need good grounds and their evidence.
