Legal Question in Family Law in India

I am married for past 9 years (2003) and we have a son (born in 2005). We live in a joint family. I, my father(aged 84), my mother (aged 80), my sister(unmarried and physically handicapped, aged 43) along with my wife and son.

After the birth of the son, wife started complaining about my father,mother and sister. I asked her to ignore and continue. It did not work out. I gave her the option of living separately. She did not agree to it. Slowly, she started fighting for each and everything with every member of the family. Quite often she threatened to walk out of the marriage. Anything I scold, she calls her parents and they fight with me (almost every three months). I am fed up and said "Yes, you can leave me". Everytime , she threatens, her parents come, in the fight and discussion she refutes, she ever said like that. Now a days, every word is a lie. In the last fight, she did not hesitate to swear-in the lie with god. Her parents are almost threatening me physically and not expressing their intentions.

Most of her lies:

* She keeps on reminding everyone, i do not take her outside for holidays: I did take her to places like Belgaum and Bombay and she inslted me in front of everyone. I gave her a passport application to fill up, so that she can have a passport and we can go for a holiday abroad. She tore the application. I stopped moving along with her.

* I did not send her for a job. She did join a engg college as lecturer and left the job within months

* I did not allow her career to grow: She was sent for a job oriented course with Maintec Inc, and she did not complete it.

* I do not give her pocket money: I have deposited 6 lakhs in a post office joint a/c and asked her use it freely. She gets monthly interest and she is free to encash the deposit also. In 2010 it is been upgraded tp 9 lakhs deposit.

* I did not buy a mobile phone: A costly mobile phone was bought and given to her. she spoiled it and started using one of my old phones. I asked her to select a good phone and get money from me. Even my son was naming models to her. She refuted in front everyone that, I did not even get her a phone

* She keeps complaining my house is small. I do not own a car, etc..

Hence, I want a separation.desperately.

Last week they came to hit me. My dad intervened and stopped.

They said , they will come again.

What should be my action?
