As your relationship doesn't fall under the Prohibited relationship, their is no bar for you to go ahead and marry. However, the social implications have to be taken care of.

Now our questions are,
1. "since we are in kar and this type of marriages are allowed here can we seek any relief?"
A. marriage with maternal sister is permissible in most of the hindus. So the way out is you can get married with each other on your own as you both are major.
2. "can we have any legal problems for staying as hus & wife?"
A. if without marriage, prob. yes.
3. "when we have kids will there legal status have problems?"
A. if without marriage, certainly yes.

You are within permissible degrees - and therefore you two can marry.
