Re: meaning of a term

The court may determine 'balancing' the 'convenience' each party before passing an interim order.

"Balance of convenience" will means balancing the loss that may be suffered by the parties if the existing arrangements are disturbed.

e.g. in a title dispute case, the person in possession may normally have "balance of convenience" in his favour; but in an appropriate case, the court may appoint a 'receiver' or the court may impose condition as to deposit of 'mesne profits'.

You may better explain your facts for proper guidance.
