Legal Question in Family Law in India
misrepresentation of fact by my broethrs wife
This question is related to void marriage that i posted in law guru forum. My brother's wife has misrepresented the fact.I mentined that my brother's wife has hided her qualification at the time of marriage. She said she did BSC in chemistry but actually did BSC pass. She also said she did two years PGDM whcih is equivalent to masters but actually did one year PGDM whcih is not equivalent o masters..Now my came came to know about it recently and want to get rid of her for lieing him.
My brother and my whole family is highlly educated and he would have never married her if he knew her actual qualification.Morethan that my brother only stayed with her for 6 months as my sisterinlaws was staying in india for one year.
She and her whole family chated us.She lied my brother about her qualification and her family lied our family about her qualification. So this marriage is based on fraud.
We spoke to her family but they are not ready to end this relationship at any cost.
Is the ground mentioned above is sufficient to declare marriage as void?

No, it is not a void marriage. On the contrary, the grounds mentioned in this statement are sufficient for criminal prosecution of the boy and his family for committing cruelty and domestic violence against the girl.
You people seem to be 'blinded' by just one fact ignoring the other important issues involved. You are perhaps wanting to hear only an answer which may support your view; but unfortunately that is not the legal position.
