Legal Question in Family Law in India
Can we get the our money back from my Parents-in-Law
My husband is the only earning member of the family.We both stay abroad n parents-in- law are in India.He sends money to them for their expenses and additional money as well for investment purpose to their Joint account. Now it has come to our surprise that instead of investing on my husband's name they have done investment on my Mother-in-laws name and have clearly told us that we have to completely forget about that money and they will not give it back to us.
Can anybody suggest what can be done in this case . We want that money back...its a big n hard earned amount....
Best Regards

Re: Can we get the our money back from my Parents-in-Law
you need to show me the communciations / letters written at the time of sending money giving specific directions for investment purposes.
generally speaking, in the absence of any written communication to the contrary, it will be deemed that it was a good-will gesture by a son to his old parents;
if the money was sent from your account for any specific purpose, and if it has not been invested for the mandated purpose, an action may be maintainable.
all will depend upon the agreements you had with the receipients.
