i AM A MOTHER OF 2 MINOR KIDS AGE 11 AND 9 YRS.hAVE BEEN AWAY SINCE 1&1/2 YRS DUE TO MY EX-HUSBAND.I WAS TOTALLY DEVOTED MOTHER FOR 11 YRS AND NOW I WANT TO GET MY KIDS BACK AS I AM INDEPEND NOW . BUT HE IS NOT ALLOWING ME TO EVEN TALK TO MY KIDS,AND KIDS ARE TOTALLY UNDER HIS INFLUENCE.PLEASE HELP ME AS I DONT KNOW WHAT SHOULD I DO.HE HAS ILL MENTALITY AND VERY POWERFUL CAN DO ANYTHING TO MAKE ME TO LOOSE THE CASE.PLEASE HELP..

you may file a petition for custody of children on the ground that you can take better care of the children. But your incommunicado for 1.5 years may go against you. You will have to give explanation about it.
in case the kids are under his influence, you may not get the custody of the children but you may keep visiting them after obtaining visitation rights.
