Legal Question in Family Law in India

Mutual Divorce Law

One of my friend's wife wants to have a mutual divorce and has asked her husaband (my friend)to hire a lawyer for that. My question is that is there any law of mutual divorce after which my friend would not be liable to pay any alumni or any other amount to his wife's family as maintainance?
