Mutual Consent divorce is available to Hindus only and not to other religious persons as they are governed by their respective laws. A petition is drafted jointly mentioning permanent alimony, status of children if any, six months are time is given for the next date/motion and then statement is recorded to finalize the divorce after expiry of six months.
