whether a person can adopt his grand daughter as per Hindu law when his son and daughters are all major and living separately

the daughter cannot be adopted but in case the grand father has self acquired property, he may will the same in her favour or transfer it in her name. once there already exists a relationship of grandfather and daughter, adoption is not valid.
