re:child custody muslim law............

what if the child herself refuse to be in father's custody at a certain age say 7-8 yrs. will that be taken into consideration? how much importance is given to child's statemets and wishes to live with mother or father? can a court force a child to live with father bcz of muslim law, even if the child refuse to stay with father? please explain.
