remarriage without divorce
dear sirs,
me and my wife are living seperately for the past 2 and half years. due to her extra marital affairs, i kept her away. and now i have married another girl without taking a divorce from my first wife. i have been paying her monthly for her expenses,but without her parents knowledge. so now can they file a case against me and what can be the complications? iam ready to pay her monthly compensation. but they are asking almost 10lacks and that too immediately. in what way can i fight if at all they file a case? i have not taken any dowry from them and moreover two years back i have sent away all the furniture provided by them. moreover we are muslims.

you need not worry since you are muslim. You can divorce her at any time, your personal law give you that right. I could not understand on what ground the demand for Rs. 10 lacs has been made. The amount of dower is already fixed. Clarify please.

Did you obtained consent for second marriage from your forst marriage? Though your second marriage is not void but the same is not as per shariat law.You can not stop your wife from implicating you in false case of dowry.All the details are required to be examined to give advise on subject matter.In case of need contact with all details and papers.professional charges are applicable.

though you are governed by muslim law, please explain (a) are you born in Muslim family and therefore you are muslims; or (b) you got converted to muslim religion after your wife separated?? the lgal status in both situations would be different.
