My husband wants me to leave the house and make my own arrangements. He says he cannot live with me because he does not love me any more. Can he do so? What are my rights?

Re: rights of married women

No, he cannot do so. You are entitled to stay in the house and seek protection under the Domestic Violence Act, 2005.

"No more being in love" is not a ground for judicial separation or divorce in India.

Re: rights of married women

No, he cannot throw you out of the house.

You can either choose to exercise your rights for restitution of conjugal rights through the court.

In any case, since the relationship appears to have gone beyond repair, you may even consider filing for divorce.

Of course, you can always apply to court for grant of requisite maintenance to support yourself.
