Dear Sir,

Last year I got married,after 4 months of our marriage,my father in law came at night 11:30 to my home with my wife,he beaten me in front of my parents,after 6th month of this event.I went to marriage,My father in law used very bad words like bostered,begger.in front of hundreds of people even my wife spoken me in singular.Now I decided to divorse her.Her father blackmailing me using 498a weapon.

If any complaint has been registered you should obtain anticipatory bail. You may approach the Sessions Court or the High Court. This will not prevent you from filing a petition for divorce. Istly, you should make efforts for an amicable settlement with the intervention of elders / respectables / relatives of both sides;

2ndly, you should return all the dowry articles and valuables of your wife through police and inform the police of both areas - your area as also that of your in-laws about this;

3rdly, convey your readiness for a settlement and for payment of adequate mainteanance to your wife.
