Legal Question in Family Law in India

I am separated with my husband. I don't want to disclose my actual marital status in job interview, to avoid social stigma. Can I state that I am single/unmarried in job application forms, although my divorce is pending? Will it cause any legal problem? Please advice.

unless you get divorced, your status remain married. in case you want to mention separated, then u need to have a decree of judicial separation. in case you write unmarried in your resume, this would be considered misrepresentation and cannot be held legal.

If you think that your job do not depend on your marital status ,then in that eventuality you can hide or do not disclose it and it will not amount to be a misrepresentation.

if truth is found out you will be liable for misrepresentation.
