Sharing of Life insurance money of the unmarried late brother

Sir,my sister is married and my brother in law has used the L.I money of his late unmarried brother to build his home.the nomination in said LI was his mother she is alive. My brother in law claims that he helped his late brother in various way. My brother in law is having 2 sisters and 4 brothers.They all are demanding shares from the said LI money.My brother in law is willing to share but he can not give them money at once i.e. Rs.5,00,000. They hv other properties also bt on the name of his mother.How to give them shares. Please guide us.

What is 'L' &'LI'? All legal heirs have right in the ancesral property. A settlement can be arrived to settle their share and the same can be redused in term of family settlement which can be acted upon accordingly.

the nomination and inheritance are two independent issues. a nominee is not necessarily sole legal heir of the deceased's property. Your brother in law is required to distribute the money received by him amongst all the legal heirs.
