Signing the birth certificate

Is signing the birth certificate for his

biological child is a compulsory

obligation of the father in India?

No. A birth certificate is signed by the authorities - the Registrar of Births - and not by the parents of the child.

Yes,the father has to sign on the form that is to be submitted to the concerned Municipality authorities who in turn issue a birth certificate of the child.Where the father's name will also be reflected in the certificate.
