Legal Question in Family Law in India
i was a sikh.and i converted to islam and was married to a muslim man in 2007, in a Nikah ceremony.in Mumbai.
In MAY 2008 , i got exparte order of "Khula"( divorce) from Chief Qazi of Mumbai and thus divorced from my husband.
(1)Is this a valid divorce?
(2)was i required to obtain a decree of divorce from the family court at Bandra, Mumbai for the divorce to be final.
(3)Do i automatically become a sikh ( my earlier religion) after divorce from my muslim husband or do i have to undergo the ambrosial innunciation, ( Amrit Chakkan) as per sikh customs, to become a sikh again.
I MARRIED A SIKH MAN in June 2009 , in a gurudwara as per sikh customs.( my second marriage).
i have not obtained a deceree of divorce before marrying for the second time.
and i have not converted to sikh religion again.
(4) is this second marriage legal ( was i legaly divorced before my second marriage to a sikh and was i a muslim or a sikh at the time of second marriage)

in case the first marriage was not registered as per special marraige act, i feel the Khula is valid. have u received a certificate from gurdwara that you have become a sikh. do post all the details.
You do not have any legal issues. Enjoy your life. Good luck.!
