Legal Question in Family Law in India

sir, I am a govt employee . My wife is residing in his maternals house since april 2010. From this date upto 08 month we were not in contact with each other.After that i started paying her pocket money of Rs 6000/- along with expenditure of my son 13 year old & daughter 11 year old.still she is residing in her maternals house continously.I am having father of 70 years age.i asked her to lookafter my house for 03-04 day in a fortnight.But she always refuses. She is a house wife. by last 1.5 month we are not in contact. I am a J.Engg. in Indian railways having monthly earning Rs 40,000/-.

I am in a mood to take divorce. Please tell me about status of custody of my childrens & the divorce application.
