Legal Question in Family Law in India

Sir, my name is Naveen. I got married 13 months back, on 14-12-2009. its a love come arranged marriage, our castes are different but we both are from the same religion.(register marriage) my problem is: she doesnt treat me as her husband, she fights with me for small things, she used to complain me on my mother every time when small misunderstandings come between them, i have a sister she is married in 2007 she stays in the same city where we are living. my brother-in-law is a friendly nature guy, so they use to come to mom very often, I dont have brothers. with in a month after marriage my wife started forcing me to leave my parents and stay separately, I have not accepted her request, then she started quarrelling with my mother. she is studying b-tech 3rd year CSE, I completed my Degree B-com comp. my age is 24 now, she is 23 years. till now she went to women police station for four times to complain on me my mother and sister, C.I. told me to live with her separately I did. for four months we both lived together, now she started commanding me not to visit my parents at all, I told her not to behave this way, she didnt listen to me I slapped her, right after that she called her mother she came and they both took the clothes, books, things belong to them. every time she goes to P.S and asks for the divorce and she never send any legal notice to me, after living with her mom for 2 or 3 months she used to call me and ask me for forgiveness and accept her, I used to go with her to live separately. now from last 5 days I am living with my parents she again went with her mom saying that she will divorce me. police came to my moms home where I am staying now and asked me to come to police station I went.. this time police C.I gave me options 1: I should go and stay in my mother-in-laws home. if I refuse the 1st option, then they will arrest my mother, sister, and me because the girl complained on 3 of us. I told her that we are living separately from last 5 months, my mother and sister have nothing to do with us.. why do you arrest them?? she said the Law is like that we cant do anything. then I said I will do what they tell me to, because I dont have other option, then my aunt told to police that she cant accept me to stay with them, and decided to divorce me. police asked me to pay her 1.5 lacks because I ruined her life, I did not take a single penny as dowry from them. they accepted that I didnt take money from them. Sir please help me, now I strongly decided not to stay with her anymore.

Questions: 1.Do I have to pay the amount, they demand?

2. if I cant pay them, will they arrest my family members? they never visited my home, where I lived with my wife for more than 8 months, does the Law says to arrest them?

3: should I give them all the things now, which they gave me in marriage? or I should give after divorce?

4: if they take me to jail, do I have to give the money they demand?

5: how much money do I need, to get bail. if they arrest me and my family?

6: suppose if I give her the money and apply for divorce, after few months if she changes her mind and again asks me that she want to be with me.. can I still be able to get divorce?? I dont want her.

Sir, please suggest me what to do now.. the FIR is not booked yet, every day I am getting calls from police. because 3 days back when they took me to the police station, they asked me to write on a white paper the things they gave me in marriage and the amount of marriage expenses 1.5 lacks... I told them I cant pay the whole amount at once and took 3 days time to pay them 30,000. now I am not able to arrange the amount I am scared that all my family members will go to jail because of me.. please help me. I am waiting for your suggestion sir.. Thank you for reading my problem patiently..

police have no authority to ask you to pay for anything. contact a lawyer and approach the court so that police interference is stopped
