Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi sir,i married to guy who is addicited to alcohol and even all bad habits .He is even undergone some medical treatment before marriage.My inlaws and himself made all false statements about his education also.I am a well educated women and even offered a nice job before marriage.They said they are well enough and no need to do job. But after marriage i came to know he is a psycho and even mentally ill.What all cases can i file against them.He always harrases me for dowry. He behaves like hell.He always abuses me and my family.He always knocks me out of house. I lost his biodata. We spent lots of money for marriage and my all ornaments are there with them.

You are entitled to lodge a complaint with the local police under Sections 406 and 498-A of I.P.C.

Besides, you may also institute proceedings under Prevention of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.

You may claim back your ornaments, expenses incurred on marriage and criminal action for the cruelty committed against you.
