If I seek for visitation rights at the place where my daughter stays, what measures should I legally take to be on the safe side of the local people ?

You may consider contacting the local police with a certified copy of the court order. Besides, with police help/contacts, you may contact a local social / women organization to support you for the meeting. Alternatively, you may find a common friend/relative to accompany you when you visit the place.

once you get the order of visitation from the court concerned, you may also seek police assistance to execute the order.
