Legal Question in Family Law in India

Special marriage

Sir I am (groom) from chennai and she is from vellore, both are different districts. We are from Hindu and Christian background and of different caste. For a special marriage at first for signing up the form (notice) do we need witness signature, do both of us or any one of be present at the registrars office? Will they send any notice to our addresses? Will the notice be put up in both the jurisdictions that are chennai and vellore? May I know the practical difficulties behind this?

Re: Special marriage

Congratulations! Go ahead. God Bless.

There are no practical difficulties. you may be required to complete the formalities required under the Special Marriage Act. The court may put a notice to the general public inviting objections, if any, about the proposed marriage. Wish you good luck.
