Legal Question in Family Law in India
stridhan
I left house bare feet. My in-laws and husband were not returning my cloths, jewellery and other articles. I filled case for divorce. They returned my jewe. etc. which I had got from my parents house but took back gold jewellery and cloths which they gave me during marrigae. I have photo of all articles, photo take duing marriage and a written doc. where they have acknowle the receipt of all the articles. Can I claim back my stridhan in court. They are saying that exchange has taken place mutually. Actually we were forced to give back to get jew & clothes lying with them which were given by my mother. I am leally entitle for stridhan? can I claim back the same?

Re: stridhan
Yes, you are legally entitled to the entire 'istridhan' and also a decent alimony/spousal support for your maintenance.
You may recover your istridhan also by filing a criminal case / FIR u/s 406 IPC; and may claim spousal support under DVA.
You may file an application for support and return of istridhan in your pending divorce petition also.
