Legal Question in Family Law in India

Can i tape my conversation with my soon to be ex?

my husband is asking for a divorce and we are going to have a talk tomorrow regarding this. i will have people from my side with me, not a lawyer but my family and he will have his family. He is very cunning and will try to make things out to be what they are not, so can i use my camcorder or phone and tape the whole meeting as a means of proving accuracy. is that legal or will it be illegal?

pls. advise.

It may be legal to make an electronic record of the meeting for your own use or later on for use before the police or the court in your own personal case. However, you should not use that info/pictures for any other purpose.

recording the conversation is not legal but even illegal evidence is receivable as evidence. you may go ahead with the same entirely at your own risk.
