Legal Question in Family Law in India

Theft

Sir,

We filed a theft case in the court directly. Since police didn't accept , we filed it in the court. Court directed police to enquire. And due to political pressures, police made FIR infavour them saying there is no theft happened. And now the police came to us and pressuring us to sign on their report. Even our lawyer insisting on us to sign on those papers. But we have sufficient witnesses whom the police didn't enquire. We can't trust our lawyer.

1. Do we need to sign on those papers really and why? Do we have the right not sign because investigation is not proper. Pl advise

2. Our lawyer is saying that if we didn't sign, we shall get summons. why is it true?.

Pl tell me the actual proceedings here. My parents are innocent and they can't know what is there in those papers.

What should be our step.

Re: Theft

Your details seems quite broken. But you need to sign the papers of the police and parallely file an petition of protest before the court against the police station.

Re: Theft

Since you have already filed the case through court, it is better you file an application in the same very court bring on record all the facts.

You need not to sign on the papers police is wanting u to sign. instead you can file a "protest petition" in the court against investigation made by the police.
