Legal Question in Family Law in India

i am a twenty year old major pursuing engineering from a private college.i am a hostel resident . i am interested in moving out of the hostel as a day scholar.but my parents wont allow for it and the university requires the consent of my parents. is there anything i can do as a major , legally that can help me move against my parents and ask my university management to follow my wish .

You may make appropriate request to the University. The question of your being major or minor may also depend upon the financial help being taken by you from your parents. Are you on your own for meeting your expenses OR your parents still supporting you ?? If you are dependent upon your parents for financial support, their decision may be important.

the university would listen to your parents only as they are the ones who are funding your education.

so far as your legal right is concerned, you are within your right to request university to allow you to reside outside. However, if in house resident was a precondition by university for admission, then whether parent allow or not, does not matter
