Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi, U might remember my query I had asked last week regarding my brother;s case whose in laws allegated him to be impotent. You had advised to better to go ahead with divorce . Even we have made our mind because now there is no question to linger on this relationship. But now we are facing a great problem because my brother's in-laws are indirectly asking for a huge money as attorney. They are telling they had spent 25 lakhs on their daughter's marriage. But the truth is that the total expense was not more than 10 lakh, which was spent on Gold, shopping and on marriage ceremony. My parents are not in a condition to pay such a huge amount. They are ready to give back the gold and the rest of the expenditure. . We dont want to be rude to them because we are very much scared that they can file false cases against my family and u know Indian courts are always on girl's side. My parents are staying alone and we dont want to put them into trouble.

Please advice us how to handle this situation.
