Legal Question in Family Law in India

Validity of marraige

Hi,

I married my partner in Australia at the registry of civil marraiges. She is an australian permanent resident and i am an Australian citizen (dual passport holder - indian).

However due to family pressure now she has asked for a divorce.

I dont want to give it and would like to know if the marraige is valid in India ?

Re: Validity of marraige

since your question is restricted to validity of marriage in India, yes, your marriage is valid in india. it is marriages under Hindu Marriage Act, require Saptapadi. It would be better if you would submit as to how was your marriage performed.

No part of the cause of action having arisen in India, the courts in India may have no jurisdiction over the dispute.
