Legal Question in Family Law in India

Validity of Marriage

I and my husband got married about 6 months back with full marriage ceremony, but we did not made the marriage certificate.

For the last two months he has lost interest in me and says that since we do not have a marriage certificate, our marriage is not officially valid and can dump me any time.

Also, he says since he is in process to move to Australia, once out of India I can never prove that he is my husband.

Please help me. Can he really dump me that easily?

Re: Validity of Marriage

No, he CANNOT. On the contrary you may initiate a criminal complaint against him u/s 498-A IPC and alsl under 'domestic violence' laws. Once the case is registered, he may not be able to leave the country. You may even request the police to impound his passport.
