void marriage

I got married one year ago under hindu marriage act.In the ad the they wrote they were looking for post graduate girl.I did one year PGDM but i told him that i did Two years PGDM.Now after he came to know he is moving to court to nulify this marriage.Is this marriage void?

No. The marriage cannot be challenged on this ground. They could verify the fact before marriage if they were serious about this fact. Moreover, this is a fact which constitute an 'essential' condition of marriage. A husband cannot challenge marriage, if some facts, which he could verify before marriage, are found to be incorrect.

no, this marriage is not void and he cannot obtain a decree on this basis alone.

Marriage is valid and cannot be nullified mere on the mistake of fact. Law doesn�t provide such stipulations. If the reason is different, it is apart.

Stipulations, if they are necessary, cannot be challenged if they could be ascertained reasonably.
