Legal Question in Family Law in India

My wife has asked for maintenance from me for her and our infant daughter who is with her. She is staying at her parents' place. She is not working, but is an M. Com. I live in a different city on rent. Assuming my income is 10k pm, what amount may court ask me to pay maximum? What arguments can i make to reduce the amount? What expenses can or should I show to indicate that i cannot save anything to spare for her maintenance?

Your wife and the child both together may be entitled to at least 5K as maintenance.
