wife is giving threat of dowry case agnst me and my parents
Dear Sirs,
I belong to Jamshedpur and was married on 12th of March 2004 in meerut city (UP), which was a simple dowryless marriage. I moved to Jamshedpur in March 2005 with my wife and daughter to support my old parents.
But my wife started troubling my parent and me to such an extent there, that I was forced to leave job there and came to Meerut along with her and my daughter in march 2007, which was her main objective which got fulfilled.
Now she is teaching in meerut and I am looking for a job. She is threatening me everyday of lodging a case of dowry against me and my parents and committing suicide on any small issues.
Now my question is :
1. Can she lodge a case of dowry against my parents who are in jamshedpur and myself in delhi and she (my wife is in meerut)?
2 if yes, how to get safe in such situation, so that if anything happens in future i and my parents should be safe enough.

this is becoming the story of more and more homes.
as the ladies have been equipped with more power by law, ladies are misusing them.
send the complaint to the comissioner of police of her such threats but beware of the backlash.

As regard the lodging of dowry case against you and your husband there is no legal bar and your wife can lodge but law says that the jurisdiction lies where she alleged to be tortured or harrass for dowery. For detail query contact the lawyer or me.

actually your problem is no dowry or suicide! - it is mere seeking more personal attention and over possessiveness!
talking is two way -listening and speakining!
listen to your wife - talk to her. find out what actually she wants. make her understand!
don't make small silly quarels into wars - they don't deserve that much attention! i hope you understand what we mean!

your parents are safe so long as you have a separate residence from them; but make sure there should be no demand of dowry from your parents side; secondly, what ever was received by your parents at the time of marriage, that should be returned immediately to the girl to prevent any legal action,.

Collect Documentary evidence that your parents are living else ware and your wife is living in another place.
Further do not allow your parents to see your wife and by comming to their place and like wise do't alow your parents to go to see your wife at her place.
If possible collect evidence on her behaviour through letter etc., so as to strengthen you evidence.

well in this case the first thing i would suggest you is to talk with her regarding this situation and yes she can file a divorce, people usually take disadvantage of this section which is provided.
