Legal Question in Family Law in India
My wife walked out on me in 2000 with my son and got married again. She had expressed her feeling that she cannot continue with me anymore, I have been single since then, My earlier marriage was not registered, but my passport has her name in the spouse column.
I am rarely in touch with her and she is well settled with her marriage and has a son from that marriage, i am not sure how she managed the legal formalities, My son is also happy with her and has shown no intention of coming to me.
I am getting a marriage proposal now, i wanted to have my documentations cleared before i enter into a relation, so that there is no legal hassels and i have a clear documentation
I request advice on how to proceed, Please help

Speak to her about your precarious situation in which she has put you in and file a mutual consent divorce and get the same in 6 months time. It'll be good for both of you.As her 2nd marriage , as of now ,is null and void without giving you a legal divorce.
