Legal Question in Family Law in India

As she was not wiling to get engaged to the groom who was chosen by her family, she ran away from the groom's place and met me at Siliguri from where I took her to Gurgaon in September, 2007. Since the very first day I have been facing lot of problems with her like I have been unable to adjust with her. She wants my cash and all to be saved in her name. She demands gold made jewellery, lot of clothes and other stuffs every month and I am unable to provide her with those. She keeps abusing and hitting me with cooking stuffs, broom etc. However, she keeps damaging mobile handsets, glasses other stuffs. However, she threats of filing case of abduction, kidnapping, raping, torturing etc.

Just wanted to know can I run away and stay somewhere else and can she file case against me? If yes, then how could I come out of it?

Would be greateful if you respond to my queries at the earliest.

Since I am not aware of your marital status, the opinion may differ. In case you are married, no case of abduction or raping is made out. But in case you are not married then take your neighbors into confidence and approach the SSP or any higher official of Gurgaon and report the entire incident and the neighbors will testify that you are living like husband and wife.
