Dear Madam,
With respect to Indian successions amendment act dated 9th September 2005, Indian parliament has passed the said bill in order to give effect of the shares to women in their coparcenary property as retrospective ( back date ). Yes you can claim your respective share from the father's property, and allocation of shares depends upon number of coparcenares who are in your family, or whether is this a ancestral property, or whether any will has been effected so far.
Thank you,
