Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India
A cheque issued by my father had bounced, against which a case had been filed. Now an arrest warrant has been issued against my dad. He is not here in mumbai. He has shifted his business and there are no possibilities that he can come down here. So can the police harass me as they do not have his address? can i be taken into custody?

you cannot be harassed nor you can be arrested or taken into custody for an offence alleged to have been committed by your father. If police does so, you may file a complaint against the police officer to his superiors or in the court where the case is pending. Even the court cannot compel you to produce him
