Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India

A deceased member of our family who was a bachelor had accounts - savings and fixed deposits with a bank. We wish to have details of these accounts, the transactions for a period prior to his death and after. The accounts were in a single name, joint with his deceased mother and with another person. The bank is avoiding answering and providing the details. It appears that some of money has been paid out and therefore they are shielding themselves. Can the bank refuse to divulge the information and what action must we take to obtain the information?
