Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India

General Power of Attorney

My Grand mother, father, elder brother, myself, younger brother, and sister had given General Power of Attorney in the year 1996. My Grand mother expired in 2000 and we have not cancelled the power. My question is whether the power given still holds good even after the death of my grandmother. Because somebody says that any one who has given power expires, the power is deemed be become invalid.
