Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India
If a lawyer is not paid the professional charges towards the services rendered by him in a case, is he entitled to file a suit for recovery of money after 3 years. I had been informed by my friend that the limitation period of 3 years for recovery of money will apply only for recovery of loans, borrowings and money lent matters. My friend says that for recovery of professional charges the limitation of 3 years will not apply. Hence I would like to know what is the limitation period for a lawyer for recovery of professional charges. Is there any authority or judgment on this issue.

3 years for recovery of money suits. However, it would be pertinent for you to know as to when the period of 3 years commences. Hence, you should read the Limitation Act.
