Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India
I have made an RTInformation application for an audit report of a Treasury department in a particular state of the years 1975 and 1985. To my utter surprise I get a reply that audit reports preservation is only 5 years and hence the same is unavailable.
But as per RTI I am entitled to last 20 years of transaction / records / data starting on 2005 (RTI in force from this year). As per this rule I am entitled to the audit report of the concerned treasury for the year 1985. Should I file a RTI Appeal / Follow some other legal procedure for obtaining the same?
Thanks in advance
