Firstly you lodge a complaint complaining the threat given by your wife.Commission of sucide is not a easy job.As such there is no preventive steps.

File detailed version of her committing the sucidal act and thereby she is creating problem to you and your family members, narrate all the facts which has taken place and file a compliant in police station and obtain a anticipatory bail if she is trying to commit suicide. bring this to her family elders and relatives notice.

complaint to police regarding her threats and take help of a local lawyer to get the complaints drafted or you can consult any of us too.

as such there are no preventive measures in law. However, i am sure you can prevent her from going ahead with the threatened act. You can lodge a police complaint that she has been threatening with such act, which later may be of some help to you.
